I decided to purchase a laptop. Some research later, I decided that a HP NX6110 would be the most suitable laptop for my needs and used Froogle to find the lowest price for this particular machine, which was Technoworld at £ 441.80 plus postage.
== Ordering ==
I set about ordering this laptop with Technoworld, and the order was placed successfully and I received my confirmation email from them, and all was OK.
I decided when ordering the laptop, that I better use the next day delivery (For an extra £5.00) so I will get the item in time for Christmas (As the last working day was 4 days away). I ordered it in the evening, so I expected delivery two days later.
The postage prices to the UK were:
Next 2 to 3 days: £7.99
Next day: £12.99
Saturday: £25.00
Next day (AM): £29.00
== The next day ==
To my surprise, I received a telephone call from Technoworld the next day, asking for my credit card details. I noted down their name and telephone number and told them that I would ring them back shortly. The telephone number I was given was an 01 number, so I was suspicious.
I phoned Technoworld on their official number and they confirmed that this person did work for them, and did need the card details and put me through to him, where I gave him my details. He confirmed that the order would be deliverd between 8am and 6pm the next day (2 days after ordering).
== The "delivery" day ==
I waited in the whole of the day to sign for this laptop, but there was no sign of it at 5:30pm, so I phoned Technoworld and they advised me that the machine would not be coming today and I should not have been told that. I would have to email Accounts to get a refund for the postage surcharge
== A day later ==
At last my laptop arrived in an old, tatty box, but it did arrive! I signed for the package as "Damaged" and "Opened", but after inspection, the contents were all in full working order.
== Update ==
* I have not received a reply from Accounts and I have not received the postage refund for thie missed delivery to date. |
